According to experts who have studied more than one million people, creativity is often associated with mental illness, persons exposed are writers.
Based on research that was done by the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, writers are more at risk of anxiety and bipolore disorders, schizophrenia, depression and drug abuse.
Opportunities that writers commit suicide are twice as large in comparison with ordinary people. Dancers and photographers are more likely to be affected by bipolar disorder.
The scientists say their findings shed light on mental disorders, which by now should be looked at differently. "This kind of exposure and mental illness-related phenomena pave the way for their recovery. In this case, the doctor and the patient can reach an agreement on what needs to heal and at what price, "says dr. Simon Kyaga, one of the participants in this research.
